Shapewear

Shapewear smooths, lifts and sculpts under or over your outfit: bodysuits, waist cinchers, high-waist briefs, shaping shorts and leather-look sculpting pants that hold you in without the boning of a corset. Choose by waist and hip measurement, then by how firm a hold you want. Good shapewear disappears under clothing or becomes the outfit itself. Everything ships in plain packaging with no indication of the contents or the sender.

Shapewear buying guide

This page lists every piece of shapewear we stock. If you already know what you want, the products above are the whole range. If you are still choosing, the sections below cover what separates one piece from another, written from the questions customers ask us most rather than a manufacturer brochure.

Sizing and fit

Measure your natural waist, the fullest part of your hips and, for bodysuits, your bust, and match all three against the chart on the product. Shapewear is meant to be snug but never painful: if it rolls at the waist, digs at the legs or leaves you short of breath, it is too small. If you are between sizes, go up; a size too small does not shape better, it just rolls and bulges.

Think about where you want the hold. A high-waist brief or short works on the tummy and hips, a bodysuit smooths from bust to thigh, and a waist cincher concentrates on the middle. Butt-lifting and BBL styles leave the seat open or lightly shaped to lift rather than flatten.

Materials and what they demand

Power mesh and nylon-spandex blends give firm compression and stay cool under clothing. Leather-look and faux leather shaping pants sculpt as they are worn and double as outerwear, but they do not breathe like fabric. Seamless knit pieces are the most invisible under fitted dresses; bonded edges stop lines showing through.

Check the closures. Hook-and-eye fronts and open gussets make a bodysuit practical to wear for a whole evening; zip-fronts are quicker but less adjustable.

Care that preserves it

Hand wash in cool water with a mild detergent and dry flat, away from heat; the dryer destroys elastic. Rotate pieces rather than wearing the same one every day, so the fibres recover their stretch. Wipe leather-look pieces with a damp cloth instead of washing them.

Frequently asked questions about shapewear

What is the difference between shapewear and a corset? A corset uses steel or plastic boning and lacing to reduce the waist. Shapewear uses compression fabric to smooth and lift, with little or no boning, and is comfortable for longer.

Can I wear shapewear as an outfit? Yes. Leather-look sculpting pants and many bodysuits are made to be seen, not hidden.

How tight should it feel? Firm but comfortable. You should be able to sit, breathe and move freely.

Do you carry plus sizes? Several pieces run to plus sizes, listed on each product.

Common mistakes when buying shapewear

Sizing down for more hold. It rolls, digs and shows through clothing instead.

Choosing the firmest compression for all-day wear. Save firm hold for a special night and pick a lighter piece for long days.
