Power Play Studio Becomes the First Adult Retailer Certified by Nevada’s GOED
On September 16, 2026, Power Play Studio, LLC was certified as a Tier 1 Local Emerging Small Business by the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED). As far as we know, we are the first adult company to earn the certification, and today we are the only adult retailer among the more than one thousand businesses in the state’s directory.
What the certification is
The Emerging Small Business program was created by the Nevada Legislature to help small, locally owned companies grow. GOED runs it. A Tier 1 business is a Nevada company with no more than 20 employees and modest annual sales, the true small end of the market. Certified businesses are listed in the state’s Emerging Small Business Directory, and they get access to state and local purchasing opportunities, free business counselling and networking events. The certification runs for two years.
Why it matters to us
Adult retail is a legitimate American industry. It employs people, pays taxes and follows the law, yet it is still shut out of much of the ordinary support other small businesses take for granted. Federal Small Business Administration lending rules, for example, exclude any business that earns more than a small share of its revenue from adult products. Being certified by our own state, on the same terms as any other Las Vegas small business, is a quiet but real step toward being treated as the ordinary business we are.
