The store opens with more than 5,100 published products across 283 brands, shipping throughout the United States in plain, discreet packaging.
What distinguishes the launch is editorial rather than assortment. Every product listing carries original copy written in-house instead of the supplier description supplied with the feed, and the catalogue is organized into 75 category guides written for buyers who are new to a category and do not yet know what to ask for.
“Most stores in this trade carry the same distributor feed and print the same distributor text underneath it,” said Elmer Whittaker, founder and managing director. “We wrote every word ourselves, and we file every product where a customer would actually look for it. That takes months and it is the only part of this business a competitor cannot copy by placing the same order.”
